I like it when a game has the item disappear after you find it. I find it makes searching easier because it decreases the clutter.
   
Paranormal Agency does offer mini-games throughout the game. One mini-game has you detangle thread. Not quite sure of the point, but none-the-less it is an interesting puzzle. Another one of the mini-games is a spot the difference game.  Personally, I love spot the difference games and this one does not let you down.
